Joey Votto hittin' the rock
We’re catching up on getting some more photos from Spring Training up over on the OMGreds Photo Blog. Another weekend, another OMGer down in Florida to catch the action. We’ve got photos from the Reds/Rays game this past Saturday, and photos are coming tonight for Reds/Phillies on Tuesday. We also snuck in a Yankees/Pirates game in Tampa too.

Poor Joey Votto
We’ve posted some select photos of our trip to Toronto and the World Baseball Classic over in the OMGreds photoblog. Nothing too exciting – just some flavor from up north. A little Dunn, a little Votto… It’s all good in the hood.

Seriously, more photos this weekend. We’ll be at the Reds game on Saturday down in sunny Sarasota. Check the photoblog for the all the helmet sundae action.

Brandon Phillips waves to the crowd at Ed Smith Stadium
OMGer Dave was down in Florida this past weekend for some Grapefruit League action. He was able to watch the Redlegs and Bucs play last week at Ed Smith in Sarasota as well as a Rays/Red Sox game in Port Charlotte.

Dave posted a slew of photos from his trip, including some bonus pics of former Red Marcus McBeth, now with the Red Sox.

More photos are coming very soon – more from this past weekend’s WBC games in Toronto, as well as some more spring training action this weekend. We’ll be at the Reds/Rays game on Saturday. Keep checking the photo blog for more updates.

Double E and Voltron kickin’ it in the dugout – great photo. Now, where is that photo of Tom Browning coaching up the High School Musical kids at GABP? THAT’S what you all want to see, right?

The Stowe Family

Bernie Stowe and Reds alumni
Nice video on Cincinnati.com on the Stowe family and the Reds clubhouse. I would embed it, but the damn thing auto-plays, and that gets pretty annoying when the post starts moving down the page. Actually, that’s always annoying.

The MaskCam video is fun too.

Need more leather?

Ah, you can read about ol’ Leatherpants everywhere else! How about some stuff about the Reds and uniforms! Yeah! So, over at our new favorite blog, Uni Watch, they have a nice roundup of MLB photo day around spring training camps, including a few photos of our Reds.

Brandon Phillips and his goatBP, seriously, the goat is getting out of control. Tell me you are growing it until we get into the playoffs, or some other silly reason? Or, Griffey put Rogaine in your chinstrap as a joke and you can’t keep it reigned in? Junior is like that.

Reds movin' on up - to the west coast
Reds have finalized their agreement with the City of Goodyear, Arizona and will be moving spring training activities there in 2010. The short of the deal is a 20-year agreement with two five-year team options. So, it looks like the Reds will be there a while. For more, clicky, clicky.

We’ll see you and all the grey hairs out west in 2010! Any good bars out there?

Goodyear is Go

One ugly dude
This ugly little guy has a lot to cheer about – the Reds are moving out to his turf in Arizona for Spring Training activites. He’s stoked. He’s said in the past that he is excited about the Indians moving out there, but deep inside he’s a Reds fanatic. Apparently dude is a big fan of Jeff Keppinger. Who knew?

Anyways, the news it out… Goodyear, Arizona has approved the chish cash to build the stadium and the Reds are heading out there for the 2010 season warm-ups games.

Sorry, Sarasota… ya had ya chance.

Spring Training, Part 2

Friday, March 21st, 2008

I’m down in Florida this weekend to catch a few Reds games. Too bad Jay Bruce didn’t stick around with the big club for a few more days, I would have liked to watch him play. I’m sure I’ll get the chance in CIncinnati later this year, though.

Here’s my agenda: golfing today in Jacksonville, then heading to Kissimmee to watch the Reds/Astros on Saturday. Sunday in Sarasota for the Reds/Rays. Hope to see Cueto pitch one of those games, keeping my fingers crossed.

I’ll try to update with some photos on the OMGReds photoblog. But a word of warning, my cameraphone sucks.
