Sabo yes, LeCure no

RedsFest tickets are on sale, and reds.com has the list of players scheduled to make appearances.

Obviously none of the current major- and minor-league players and coaches on the list are surprises ... would have liked to see Sam LeCure on there, of course, but doesn't look like that'll happen. We will get Cozart, Frazier, Heisey, Maloney, Ondrusek, Valaika and Wood.

Former players scheduled to attend (who no longer have an official role with the team): Sabo (Friday only), Jack Billingham, Pedro Borbon (whose status somehow went from unable-to-locate to attending RedsFest in a matter of weeks), Tom Browning, Leo Cardenas, Clay Carroll, Eric Davis, Chuck Harmon, Tommy Helms, Jerry Lynch, Lee May, Hal Morris, Jim O'Toole, Ron Oester, Joe Oliver, Jeff Reed, Scott Scudder and Herm Winningham.

Get your cards ready! (and balls too, I guess, just didn't want to say get your balls ready)

Sabo, Borbon and Mullane your 2010 Reds Hall of Fame Inductees

Oh, where have you gone, Chris Sabo?
We're pretty sure you knew, but just in case you missed this HUGE announcement, the Reds Hall of Fame is revealing the 2010 Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame inductees this afternoon. We'll let you know what happens, of course. In the meantime, here's a look at what we think will happen.

We'll be at the Reds HOF for this afternoon's press conference. You can Follow us on Twitter for the latest.

UPDATE: Chris Sabo, Pedro Borbon Sr. and Tony Mullane are the 2010 Reds Hall of Fame Inductees. More at Reds Internal.

Chris being interviewed after the announcement. Not that you could tell since his face is completely blown out by the light in the photo. Our apologies. Next time, we're grabbing the Nikon. Rock on...

Merry Christmas

It's a Sabo Christmas!
Merry Christmas from Chris Sabo's Bobblehead and OMGreds. Have a great holiday, yo.

UPDATE! While heading out on Christmas Eve, my wife and I just happened to catch a great segment on NPR where a tape of Red Barber's recreated call of the final out of the second of Johnny Vander Meer's no-hitter was played. Here's the summary from NPR:

Baseball broadcaster Jon Miller talks about a recently discovered recording of a baseball play-by-play that was made 41 years after the actual game took place. At a broadcasters' conference in Orlando in 1979, Red Barber recorded a gripping play-by-play of a 1938 game at Brooklyn's Ebbets Field.

A Perfect Evening

Tom Browning - Mr. Perfect
To watch Tom Browning toss a fatty goose against the Dodgers. Oh, how I remember hating the Dodgers back in the day. They were the perfect team for Browning to shut down. Perfect

Though it's nice to see the game play by play, it's cool that FSN is cutting in a lot with an interview with Browning. Nice to hear his thoughts on the game in detail.

Here's the box score from that night, if you're interested.

Great to hear Marty and Joe calling the game. Let's hope Nuxie makes it into the Hall of Fame tomorrow.

Quick Game Note
- Looked like Sabo was going to pop a vein or two after being called out on a bang-bang pickoff play at first. Good ol' Pete and his hair come out to argue right afterwards.

- Kirk Gibson goes nuts after he's fanned by Browning in the 7th. LOL

- I think my parents were at this game - they actually went back the stadium after the rain delay ended. Good for them :)

Reds Hot Rap

Sabo Raps!
OMG! Not sure if I ever heard this back in 1990. Yes, a rap done by the Reds after their 1990 World Series win. Nice "Nasty Boys" sample. Get it while you can right here. Please, please, please tell me there is a video somewhere.
