I tell you what, take stroll through the team shop at GABP and you’ll see that Mr. Redlegs is all over the merch. ALL OVER. He’s on everything. I guess that’s pretty cool. We love him at OMGreds… just hope that his head doesn’t get too much bigger from all this commercialization. It’s big enough already.

At least my night started off well. Not so much for Matt Belisle. I was really rooting for the guy tonight. He’s going to be pretty good, I think… let’s hope he can shake this one off and have a great start when it’s his turn again.

My favorite seats in GABP are the right field stands. If you are in the first few rows, they are awesome. If you are at the top, they are still damn good. But, if you sit at the top closest to centerfield, you have the smoke stakes blocking your view of left field and the scoreboard. But, that’s okay got a $5 ticket and just headed up there.

Cubs or not, we like 'em
This photo was sent late. Wrigley Field has a penny smasher! It’s by the main merchandise store behind home plate. I smashed two of the four designs available. I love when ballparks have these – they are cheap, fun souvenirs. I’ve also smashed pennies at Jacobs Field in Cleveland and at PNC Park in Pittsburgh.

Bootleg Cubs merch
Some Cubs merch outside Wrigley. Interesting t-shirts include one that said “Cardinals Take It In Their Pujols“. Very nice.
I talked to a vendor before the game that was selling Kosuke Fukudome merch including some headbands for $10. He asked if I would like to take one home to Cincinnati, and I said I would, but not for $10. He went on to tell me that he was a White Sox fan and Cubs fans are the dumbest fans on earth. He apparently laughs to himself every time a Cubs fan gives him a dollar.
Fukudome mania is pretty crazy up there. Fun to see, actually. We need to have Brandon Phillips mania or something. Maybe Bruce mania when he comes up? We’ll have to work on that.
