At the World Series

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

We were in Philly for Game 3 of the 2009 World Series – but without a ticket. Still managed to have a good time though. Here are some photos for ya…

Here's the scene just outside Citizen's Bank Park. MLB had a nice party-zone type of area going on with a music stage, merchandise, batting cages, speed pitch, free photos, free ice cream and more.

Free ice cream. HOLLA! Check out the wooden spoon. They're back, baby!

As a Reds fan, you kinda just want to forget this ever happened.

We had some. It hit the spot. Who's Bull?

Seriously, aside a special guest of the MLB or something, who would wear this jacket? We saw a few folks wearing them outside the ballpark. Like, where else on earth do you were that thing?

Fox and their marketing machine had "Glee" crap everywhere. I guess they sang the National Anthem before the game? Whatever. We hope that got rained on.

We saw a lot of this - folks rollin BYOB. Can't quite pull that off outside GABP.

These Phillies fans had the right idea. Those little cooler carts can motor too!

We were in Philly for the Pearl Jam show across the street from Citizen’s Bank Ballpark at The Spectrum. It also happened to be the LAST EVENT EVER at the fabled arena before they eventually tear it down.

The World Series, Pearl Jam, and The Flyers all happening that night on the same block! Add in Halloween and you have a hell of a night in Philly.

Bob Evans at GABP
There is also a Bob Evans stand at 5/3 Field in Dayton. Is the Big E making moves in and around baseball? Interesting. They had sausages and stuff at the one in Dayton. We didn’t try any, so not sure how good it is. How many folks go for coffee at ballgames?

Pete Rose memorabilia at Montgomery Inn
Nerding it up at a baseball card show works up quite an appetite. It was only appropriate to throw down at Montgomery Inn – surrounded by Pete Rose memorabilia.

Homer, Junior and B-Lark wine
WTF? I guess I did hear about some of the wine tasting events for this stuff. Proceeds are going to charity, I’m sure, so that’s cool. Not sure what I will be picking any of this stuff up. I didn’t look to closely, are there differences between the three “brands”?

“B-Lark”? guh.
