1986 Ozzie Guillen Game-Used Jersey

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

This great couple we met at Soxfest showed us their prized White Sox possession: a game-used Ozzie Guillen jersey from 1986. She was kind enough to let us take a few photo of the jersey, including the tagging shown below.

Later that weekend, we caught up with her again and she said that Ozzie really enjoyed seeing his old threads, and showed the Sox workers around him how small his used to be – the jersey is just a size 40. Ozzie told her a little fact about that jersey that set it apart from potential knock-offs. He would have a small horizontal stitch line sewn into the v intersection of the neck. Wish we would have a gotten a photo of it, but it just didn’t happen. Nice little tidbit there.

At the World Series

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

We were in Philly for Game 3 of the 2009 World Series – but without a ticket. Still managed to have a good time though. Here are some photos for ya…

Here's the scene just outside Citizen's Bank Park. MLB had a nice party-zone type of area going on with a music stage, merchandise, batting cages, speed pitch, free photos, free ice cream and more.

Free ice cream. HOLLA! Check out the wooden spoon. They're back, baby!

As a Reds fan, you kinda just want to forget this ever happened.

We had some. It hit the spot. Who's Bull?

Seriously, aside a special guest of the MLB or something, who would wear this jacket? We saw a few folks wearing them outside the ballpark. Like, where else on earth do you were that thing?

Fox and their marketing machine had "Glee" crap everywhere. I guess they sang the National Anthem before the game? Whatever. We hope that got rained on.

We saw a lot of this - folks rollin BYOB. Can't quite pull that off outside GABP.

These Phillies fans had the right idea. Those little cooler carts can motor too!

We were in Philly for the Pearl Jam show across the street from Citizen’s Bank Ballpark at The Spectrum. It also happened to be the LAST EVENT EVER at the fabled arena before they eventually tear it down.

The World Series, Pearl Jam, and The Flyers all happening that night on the same block! Add in Halloween and you have a hell of a night in Philly.

Reds autographs
I’m passing the time this offseason by going after some Reds autographs through the mail. Here’s a photo of today’s mail day – not bad at all, eh? Sparky Anderson, Jack Billingham and TIm Birtsas.

Big Red Zombie Machine
This is the wall behind the register at the newly open clotheir downtown, Unheard Of. It’s the famous photo of the Big Red Machine that you all recognize, but apparently they have all become zombies in their old age.

Give them a check sometime… they peddle fashionable sneakers and tee shirts. Clickly clicky: www.unheardofbrand.com

Mr. Deadlegs
You have to be something else to rock this shirt. My guess is we’ll see SOMEONE wearing this sometime. I’ll do my best to get you a view here first.

My homeboys over at Unheard Of have this sucker exclusively in-stock.

Sorry Joe

The Raconteurs
But I had to go The Raconteurs show. It’s the only night there were going to be in town this tour, and well, I just had to see them. I hope everyone honored you well at the game. I thought about you. Not sure if you would like The Raconteurs or not… but I think you would at least have given them a try.
