We ended up getting out of Detroit pretty quickly after the game considering a sold-out game and the traffic that comes with that. Not to mention, I-75 was shut down around Downtown Detroit and everyone had to take a detour. On to Toledo for a Mud Hens game!

This guy was a trip. Not only did he have his black socks jacked all the way up to his knees, but his orthopedic shoes were also untied and about to trip him any second. It did not stop him from being the Tiger’s #1 cheerleader and White Sox basher. He also schooled us on how bad former Red Todd “Roller Coaster” Jones has been as a closer for the Detroit professional baseball club. For the record, Jones did not get the save opportunity that day. Maybe they were just giving him the rest
We had standing room only tickets for this game at Comerica Park and we got to watch the game from some great spots. They did a really nice job of building alternate viewing areas into the ballpark. You’re allowed to stand along much of the terrace level against the wall during the game. Not a bad view at all.
Standing room only at Great American Ballpark is a lot less accommodating.
The Helmet Cup ice cream was $6 at Comerica Park, but I got a big ol’ heapin’ of ice cream with that $6. I flat out could not eat all that I had gotten. The sign says you get two dips. I got 4.37 dips. The helmet cup lady held nothing back.
His stance was basically that Comerica’s listed more statistical information than GABP’s. I’ll give him that, it did have a few more stats, but not THAT much. I think GABP’s layout is much better and the ads are not quite as intrusive. While the Comerica board has a great topper with “Tigers” spelled across the top, it’s just not as good as GABP’s with the ultra-wide layout and great color monitor.
Any other thoughts out there?
Paul was pretty stoked about getting some Little Caesars while at Comerica Park. Since we hadn’t had anything to eat since we got on the road in Cincy that morning, we were pretty darn hungry and got some Pizza! Pizza! right away. Not the greatest pizza, but it hit the spot.
