Bootleg Peanuts

Take that Reds! I bought these OUTSIDE the ballpark for much less than I would have paid inside. Of course all that salty goodness made me crave sweets... so I bought a Mt. Dew - but not a LARGE, just the regular size. I didn't fall for the up-sell at the register. HA! Of course, you're probably right and the large is a better value. Damn.

At least the Reds won today - and swept the Giants. Not that it's that hard to do... but when you are the Reds... it is hard to do.

1) Rocking the sleeveless without a matching undershirt (white? really?)

2) We're glad that you're a Jay Bruce fan... and maybe you were a fan before we all were... But you can't get his name put on a jersey that he never wore.

3) That's an awful embroidery job. Incorrect fonts, name is not arched... argh.

It just all comes out to be a train wreck. Sorry dude... I'll give you points for being a fan. But, if you're going to get a jersey done... by all means, GET IT DONE UP RIGHT.

Also given away at tonight's Ken Griffey Jr. tribute was pretty nice poster. The art was commissioned by Nike and also ran as a full-page ad in the local newspaper last week.

Giveaways tonight's Ken Griffey Kr. tribute night included an "oversized baseball card" with milestone home runs listed on the back and a photo thingie complete with double-sided tape for you to place your ticket stub on. Suitable for framing, of course. Both of them.

We're glad that the Reds honored Griffey for his milestone home run and all that he has done for the game. 4/5's of the OMGreds team were on hand for tonight's ceremonies. 3/5s of us couldn't hear what the hell was going on though. We were standing in the gap on the third base side where apparently there is no loudspeaker. Oh well... I'm sure we can catch what was said on youtube or reds.com soon.

Speaking of what was said... some dude came up to us while the ceremonies were going on and mentioned to us (out of nowhere) that he has "real" "insider info" that Griffey is gone by the end of the week. MARK HIS WORDS! He certainly was itching to tell someone.

Well, we doubt he would be traded before Ken Griffey Jr. Camo Jersey night/day. I mean... come on. That's just common sense.

Jay got the better of the Red Sox in the first inning tonight when he mashed a fatty to right field.

The Cards took the wood to the hapless Reds tonight at GABP. The only remotely exciting thing to was us texting "OMGreds" to the AT&T scoreboard text thing. It didn't get posted. It will one of these days.

The Ohio Cup - It's real!

Here's a pretty bad photo of the Ohio Cup inside the Reds Hall of Fame and Museum. I stopped by to get a photo during the game, but the HOf closes at 8:00 - so no chance to get inside for a good shot.

So yeah, it's pretty damn big. Maybe I'll get a better photo tomorrow.

Nothing too exciting, just had to post a photo when we were finally winning. Aaron Harang finally got some run support tonight - albeit late - and got the win.

We got to the ballpark with one out in the first - and we are already down 2-0! Argh! At least we ended up snagging some choice seats due to the apathetic attendance.

Dunn's monster jack

This dude at top picked up Dunn's monster jack against the Cubbies. Yes... that's the second-to-last row in teh Sun/Moon Deck at GABP. It was a huge blast.

I was already to catch the ball, but it flew eight rows over my head and into the arms of that guy. He was pretty stoked about it all.. can't blame him.

Cubs fans everywhere

Shitload of Cubs fans in left field. They flooded the stands and bleachers behind Big Donkey's grazing area.

Vottomatic!

Against better financial judgement, I bought a pack of '08 Topps Heritage baseball cards at the ballpark. I guess it was my little reward for having a good race the day before at the Flying Pig Marathon. So anyways, the highlight of the pack was pulling this Joey Votto rookie card. Nice! Hopefully I can get him to sign this Redsfest or something this year.

Mr. Redlegs

I tell you what, take stroll through the team shop at GABP and you'll see that Mr. Redlegs is all over the merch. ALL OVER. He's on everything. I guess that's pretty cool. We love him at OMGreds... just hope that his head doesn't get too much bigger from all this commercialization. It's big enough already.

Monday nights

Monday calls for a beer, peanuts & a ballgame.

At least my night started off well. Not so much for Matt Belisle. I was really rooting for the guy tonight. He's going to be pretty good, I think... let's hope he can shake this one off and have a great start when it's his turn again.

Obstructed view

My favorite seats in GABP are the right field stands. If you are in the first few rows, they are awesome. If you are at the top, they are still damn good. But, if you sit at the top closest to centerfield, you have the smoke stakes blocking your view of left field and the scoreboard. But, that's okay got a $5 ticket and just headed up there.
