Rosie! Oh my…

How baseballs are made by Craig Robinson

How baseballs are made by Craig Robinson of Flip Flop Fly Ball

Ever wonder how baseballs are made? Stitched by hand? Not really. Craig Robinson of Flip Flop Flyin’ (one of my favorite websites, btw) lets us in on the secret. Seems that our very own Rosie Red has been sneaking around with the dreaded Mr. Met.

Speaking of Craig, make sure you check out his book, Flip Flop Fly Ball. Great stuff!

A dream come true

Mr. Red, Rosie and Me... BFFs!
Nothing like wrapping up Memorial Day weekend with a Reds win and hangin’ with a couple BFFs.

Great weekend. Got to see some Reds winz, found a badass Reds hat, had my first helmet sundae of the year, got to watch unsuspecting fans on the Sony StadiumView-a-ma-jig-a-wha-wha, avoided getting shot in the face, rock star seat hook-up, and and it’s nice to know that they have a cup for the Ohio Cup! No, not that cup, a souvi cup! Much better than a helmet cup, but not as nutty as this cup.

Kiss Cam in Hi-Def?

Rosie Red hogging Kiss Cam
Sounds like the Reds are planning on upgrading the video scoreboard at Great American Ball Park to a new hi-def setup. Sweet! I thought there was talk of this last year, so looking forward to it happening for the upcoming season. I would bet that the Reds caved to Rosie Red’s demands – she needs to maximized the cuteness and hi-def was the way. More about this and the gutting of the 4192 Club on the Biz Courier.

Btw, Rookie of the Year awards will be announced later today. We are crossing our fingers for Mr. Votto…

UPDATE: The Cubs’ Geovany Soto does get the NL ROY.

Rosie and the Rockettes

Oh, Rosie

Man, are we late to the party on this one. It happened almost two weeks ago, and we just found it – Rosie Red’s appearance on the Channel 12 morning weather dance party thing. Those folks on 12 are totally on crack. At least they have fun.

Reds Rally Game: Near EPIC WIN!!1!

Reds Rally Game: EPIC WIN
Finally, I won the damn Reds Rally game today. Everyone else in the ballpark did too. It must have been all that faith from Faith Day going around. So, no big prize for me, though. The 25 items they give away for the game were long gone by time BP hit the three-run jack to help me complete a row. So, I’m prizeless, but I feel good about winning. I really do.

It was a good day at the ballpark. Not only did I win the Rally Game, I also got my photo with Rosie and the Reds routed the Pouljos Nine. I had not been to a game in three weeks, and a lot has happened since then. Most notably: lots of losing. Seeing a big win was a treat. Oh – I also saw that big EE is getting some dental work. Lookin’ good!

In the past, we’ve mentioned the baseball card deal they have at GABP – buy four packs of baseball cards and get two free Reds tickets. If you buy four now, there are actually three games you can choose from: September 2-4. That’s a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Thursday is a Business Man’s special, of course. So, just a heads up on that deal. When I did the deal a few weeks ago we got decent seats in the View Level.

Rosie Red: Coming to a GABP near you

Rosie RedThe Reds have announced the creation of a Rosie Red mascot that will join Mr. Red and Mr. Redlegs at Great American Ballpark this summer. It’s a small part of an overall plan to attract more moms (and kids along with them) to the ballpark. Sounds like a super fantastic move. Now, we can finally have a real live Mr. Reds Race – or whatever it’s called now.

You can find more information about the Reds’ Rosie Reds Club on their website and at Reds.com (outdated, it seems to be).
